My guest illustrator this week is the phenomenal Vicky Scott. Her illustrations are a light hearted look at the world through female eyes, often with a warm nostalgic view of the past fused with the present.

Hi Sarah. Could you tell me a little about yourself and what you like to draw.
I’m an illustrator from Oxford. I like drawing from my imagination and creating scenes with an array of unusual characters.
What is your favourite colour?
Blue.
Do you have any pets?
No, but I’d like a Beddington Whippet.
If so, what are their names? 
I think he’d be called Ralph, but I’m not sure why.
If you were a super hero, what would be your super hero name?
The Silver Sparrow.
What would be your super power?
Super shape-shifting abilities.
Are you left or right-handed?
Right-handed.
Which do you prefer, Robots or Monsters? 
Monsters.
Favourite fruit?
Apples, preferably the crunchy kind. Pink Lady apples if I’m feeling fancy.
Do you have a cunning plan to take over the universe?
Nope.

Meet Gilbert – With Rich Burkett

My first guest is a bit of a cheat as it is my husband, not only is he not an illustrator but one of his pet hates is the sound of a pencil on paper!

He helped me with the idea for this project, along with the creation of some of the sites creatures.

So Richard, if your not an illustrator, what and who are you?
Erm, I am a human, and your husband, but I also work as a scientist.
What is your favourite colour?
It varies from time to time, but I have a special affinity to midnight blue.
Do you have any pets?
We have 4 cats, (I hope you know this!).
What are their names?
Luna-fish, Morrigan, Ernest-Bojangles and Bertram-Sunshine.
If you were a superhero, what would your superhero name be?
Captain Freshness!
What would your super power be?
Awesomeness, oh wait, I must be a superhero already.

Right handed, though I throw a frisbee with my left hand.
